Phoneless And Hating It

Seven days, six hours and thirty minutes I survived without a phone. It’s a miracle that i’m alive.

Ok, I’m a little extra, but not really. The back of my phone shattered and I could only use it when plugged into a wall outlet or my car’s iPod connector. When unplugged the phone automatically powered off.

For the first three days, the battery wouldn’t charge more than 22 percent. On the fourth day it shot up to 50 percent. By the seventh day, I had given up hope and left it in the car all day. At the end of that day, I went to plug in the phone to check messages and realized it worked. Don’t ask me how, it’s a miracle. Thank God!

You’re probably asking why didn’t I just get a new phone, I tried! The iPhone 5s’ were and are still sold out (Where’s Steve Jobs?). I talked myself into getting a 5c on the fifth day… while at the store the network carrier’s system shut down. I couldn’t catch a break. My schedule on day six didn’t allow for a trip to the phone store.

It’s Day 19 and I’m happily picking up an iPhone 5.  I’m in Sweet Brown mode.  Ain’t nobody got time to wait for the 5s and the 5c isn’t for me. I am okay with being behind the Joneses. I get to put the extra funds toward my Europe trip that you’ll be hearing about soon (I got a little time for that).
